Take a break in the Lakelands

The Fermanagh Lakelands are the perfect place to escape for a summer break in 2013 – whether your looking for a bit of pampering, fancy getting your feet wet or are in need of some romance – you’ll find some unique places to stay across the county. Cruising on the Lough Erne

Visitor’s to the Fermanagh Lakelands can hire out a luxury cruiser to take out on the lake. Not only are the cruisers easy to manage they are also very comfortable to stay in. This is great option for group holidays or a romantic break together. There’s so much to explore on Lough Erne – and the only way to get the full experience is by boat! Visitor’s can make their own route and stop off at the many mooring points and towns to grab a bite to eat or enjoy some local entertainment for the night.

 

Trannish Island Bothy

One of the best ways to experience the full beauty of the Lough Erne is by canoe. Why not go on a camping adventure this summer and discover the Lough Erne Canoe Trail. The 50km trail spans both lower and upper Lough Erne with many camping access points along the way including Trannish Island Bothy, a renovated island dwelling and campsite that provides a fantastic overnight camping experience with some shelter from the elements. It is a bunkhouse which provides basic shelter, accommodation, shower, toilet and camping facilities. It is very popular with canoeists, boat users, youth groups and families.
